India-Africa Maitri Scholarship Scheme

Announcement for AY 2025-2026

The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Ministry of External Affairs is offering 13 slots to Egyptian students under its India - Africa Maitri Scholarship Scheme for the academic year 2025-2026 for studying in Under-graduate, Post-graduate and PhD courses in various Indian Universities/Institutes.

Interested students should register and apply on the ICCR A2A Scholarship Portal.  Some of the main highlights of the Scholarship Scheme are as follows:

  1. The applicant has to register and apply online on the ICCR Scholarship Portal “Admission 2 Alumni” at http://a2ascholarships.iccr.gov.in/. The last date of application to be submitted by students is (30 April 2025).

  1. Students between the age of 18 to 40 are eligible to apply for UG & PG courses, while age eligibility for PhD program is upto 50 years. Applicants have the option to apply to 5 Universities/Institutes in order of their preference of study. Applicants are advised to visit respective Universities /institutes website regularly courses offered, eligibility criteria and general information about the University/ institute before applying for admission.

  1. Since the medium of instructions for the course is English, the applicant should be able to speak, read and write in English.   For academic year 2024-2025, a 500-word essay in English has been introduced to ascertain English proficiency. Besides, students can also submit their TOFEL/IELTS etc.

  1. For BSc and BE/B. Tech courses, candidates should have taken physics, chemistry, and mathematics (PCM) in their school exiting examination as this is mandatory criteria for Engineering courses.

  

  1. Only applications submitted through the A2A Scholarship Portal will be considered. The application will not be considered without English translation of documents, if the original documents are not in English. 

  1. Detailed guidelines on the process of applying for ICCR Scholarships are available on the A2A portal.

  1. The scholarship will cover a return economy class airfare, tuition fees, living allowance, and stay in the campus hostel.
